Allure Beauty Box Winter 2014 Review

The Allure Beauty Box arrived today. I knew what all of the spoilers were, and initially I wasn't too excited. But seeing this box today really made my day, and there are several items I'm happy to see. If you aren't familiar, the Allure Beauty box only goes on sale 3 times a year, and you must be aware of when the sale is and be prompt if you want to get one. It usually sells out in around 15 mins. It's $44.95 + shipping. I had prepaid earlier this year so I was already signed up for one.

 

As you can see, this box is always jammed packed!

 Hair

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Colour Protecting Moisturizing Conditioner - $5.93 This advanced formula addresses the unique way brunette colour fades. Used daily, it helps lock in rich, glossy colour and multi-dimensional tones. We got the shampoo in the Fall box, so this will pair nicely with it. It's good timeing for me too, since K wants my Jonathan shampoo.

 

John Frieda Frizz Ease Nourishing Hair Oil Elixir - $10.79 Enhances your style with an instant boost of softness and shine. Use alone or cocktail with your favorite styler. K is getting this one.

                                        

John Frieda Color Refreshing Gloss For Cool Brunettes  - $10.79 In just three minutes, restore the look of salon-fresh color with this weekly non-damaging* treatment. I have used this stuff before, and it works well, I'm happy to get it.

                        

Not Your Mother’s Whip It Up Cream Styling Mousse - $5.99 Vanilla cupcake scented mousse. I want my sister to try this, since she loves mousse and has been using the same brand forever. Really, forever.

 

RUSK Texture - $18 Meh!

 

Scunci Hair Emergency Kit - $5? The only one I couldn't find a price on. Features all the basics you rely on such as hair clips, bands, and ties.

 

Splat Hair Chalk - $5.99 Temporary, stylish hair color that washes out with shampoo. K called this already!

 

Style Sexy Hair H2No 3 Day Style Saver Dry Shampoo - $18.99 This is one of the items I'm happy to get, as I've been wanting to try their dry shampoo line out.

 Skin Care

 

Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask - $7.19 I didn't know Biore made a mask. I knew about the strips, but was unaware they had a mask. I'm going to see how it works.

 

Burt’s Bees Cucumber & Sage Facial Wipes - $5.99  I'm excited to try these, I love cucumber mixed in with products like this.

Cetaphil Intensive Moisturizing Cream - $8.99 This was smaller than I thought, but I am currently going through my moisturizer stock faster than I can replace, so I'm happy to get anything right now as long as it's fragrance free. I like the Cetaphil brand.

 

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer - 6.99 Gel moisturizer? I've had gel face wash, but never gel moisturizer. I don't quite know what to make of this yet.

                                                        

Curel Rough Skin Rescue - $7.64 NEED! finally full size moisturizer. perfect timeing with this weather.

                

Dove White Beauty Bar - $1.54 Dove soaps always remind me of my grandma. Meh!

  

Jergens Natural Glow 3 Days to Glow Moisturizer - $8.99 I don't like the smell of this stuff. So, meh!

                                                                          

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel - $43.21 Another moisturizer gel. I still don't know what to make of that.

                 

Organic Doctor Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Hydrating Radiance Elixir - $17.99 I'm so excited to see this, I have totally been wanting to try for awhile.

  

Sheamoisture Superfruit Complex Body Lotion - $9.99 Again, soo happy to see another full size moisturizer. I really go through them in this weather.

 Nails

                          

Organic Doctor Organic Manuka Honey Hand & Nail Cream - $24.99 I'm very happy to get this as well, I need new hand cream for my desk as I'm nearly out.

 

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - $7.99 I'm not sure, but I think this came frozen. It's ice cold and doesn't even shake. I think the color is pretty but I seriously don't need any more nail polish.

 Makeup

 

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Glowing Nude Blush in Rose - $12.95 I haven't decided if I'm trying this yet. I'm in need of a new blush, but I think the color it too light for me. I'm just not sure how it would turn out.

Colgate Optic White Toothbrush + Built In Whitening Pen - $15.79 Interesting.

Colgate Optic White Platinum Whiten & Protect Toothpaste - $5.19 Thank you for the toothpaste, I can always use.

Well that's it for this box. I am actually ok with it, even though I thought I would be disappointed. There are enough items I need right now that the timing works well for me. Yes, it's all drugstore brands, but I shop at drugstores too so this works for me. The value for what I will be using myself is definitely there.
