FabFitFun Winter 2015

FabFitFun is $49.99/quarter, ships each season. It promises $175+ worth of full-size premium items. It has the seasons hottest beauty, fitness, fashion, and wellness items. It's one of our favorite boxes. For annual subscribers, there are now options where you can customize some of your items, which is great because then you are sure to get the colors you really want. They also added the option to do some add on items, which is basically favorite items from previous boxes.

 

 

I liked the new design for the box, it's a purple now. I also noticed the info card is magazine style,  and the first page tells about the products that are included. The other pages have random articles and I'm totally appreciating it.

This month, they are sponsoring the charity ASPCA. Post a picture of your pet or favorite animal with the hashtags #FFFAnimallove #FabFitFun #ASPCA and tag @FabFitFun and @ASPCA and for every photo FabFitFun will donate $1 to the ASPCA (Up to $90,000). I appreciate that this is included and seriously, how cute are these animal pics?

Sweet and Spark Gift Card - $40. There is no expiration date for this gift card. This is vintage jewelry that the owners find at flea markets and estate sales, then sell in their online store. They clean everything by hand prior to posting. There is some pretty cute (and unique) stuff. If you find something, you generally need to grab it because they don't necessarily have more than one of each item.
Hello Fresh 3 Free Meals Coupon - Hello Fresh is a monthly subscription that sends you fresh meals. We have used them before and K really loves them. She is in her new apartment now so she will be using this coupon.

Shoptiques Gift Card - $25. I love that this is in a gift box and ready to be gifted. There are many items on the website that can be purchased for this amount.

 

 

Wine Stopper and Charm Set by FabFitFun - $15. This is a plastic wine stopper, and little wine glass ornaments to put on your glasses. It's fun and cute and helps you remember your wine glass. It's also plastic, clashes with my grown up and elegant house decor, and it's oughta here.

Zoya Nail Polish in Vanessa - $9. I love Zoya nail polish, this lacquer contains no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl pthalate, or camphor. I don't know what most of that stuff is but I'm assuming it's a good thing it's not included. I am always happy to get quality nail polish and I'm very happy with my color.

FRENDS "the Donna" Earbuds - $80. I have received these in other boxes, but I've never tried them. They are pretty pricey earbuds, so hopefully they are worth it. They have a button on the cord that is for play/pause. I like that they came in a little pouch, and I will keep them in here for my travel bag. I got to pick my kind and I picked black/gold version. The white stuff is the stuffing from FFF box, that is sticking to the velvet material of the bag. I prefer stuffing that doesn't shed, like air bags or rolled up paper. I am not a fan of shredded stuffing and wish boxes wouldn't include it.

EJH Brand Diffuser in Sugar Cookie (Value $37) - The other flavors were Cinnamon, Pomegranate, and Lavender. This is one of the items I got to customize and get the flavor I wanted. The scent is great if you have your face right above it, but otherwise it's too light to be noticeable. So, it pretty much just sits there and looks pretty.

JUARA Candlenut Body Crème - $38. Juara Candlenut Body Creme features a luxurious, velvety texture to transform dull, dry skin for a soft, silky feel. An emollient blend of illipe butter, candlenut and avocado oils penetrates deep to promote firmness, elasticity and a glowing tone without feeling greasy. Its sweet, nutty aroma intoxicates the senses, evoking the exquisite delights of the East Asian tropics. It's sealed and since I don't have an opinion on the scent I'm going to pass this on.

Whitney Eve X FabFitFun fingerless gloves- $26. I believe this is my favorite item of the box! I LOVE these. I like the color, and the thickness. I can't wait to wear them. I am a fan of fingerless gloves, because it keeps my fingers free for my phone of course, but still keeps my hands warm.

Dermalogica Skincare Travel set  - $45. This includes cleansing gel, cream, and toner. I like the travel size and this is a pretty stable brand, so I'll just toss into my travel kit.

Hisy Battery - $24.99. This was my add on item, I got it for a much better price although off hand I am not quite sure what that was. This is a back up battery that was included in a previous box. I knew I would like t and got to pick my color. It was nice it shipped right with my box!

 

This month's FabFitFun  box has an approximate value of over $300. I'm always impressed with the FabFitFun boxes and this month did not disappoint. There are still some winter boxes left on the website, I believe they are selling for $69.99, but I am sure they will go quickly.

Beauty Fix December 2015

Beauty Fix is a subscription box from DermStore.com, formerly known as Blush box. We used to subscribe to it, and it was one of my favorites, so not sure why we took a break from it. I'm also unsure of what prompted the name change, but we are happy to be resubscribed. The cost is $24.95/mo with a regular recurring monthly subscription. The first months box is currently half off.

The items now come in a box, and do not come in the bag that Blush used to send. I am fine with this as I never knew what to do with those bags anyway.

Bliss Foot Patrol - $18. This is an exfoliating moisturizer. Peppermint oil soothes and cools while glycolic acids soften and smooth. I really like this and it's my favorite item in the box. I cracked up with the instructions on the website, which says recruit someone to rub your feet for an hour, or second option is to apply yourself. hahahaha

Lalicious Weightless Hand Cream in Sugar Reef - .23 oz - $1.38. I have not had a chance to try this yet, but it should work well for me. It has mango butter and milk thistle. The scent I received was Sugar Reef, which is a blend of white tea, melon, and ginger.

Toppick Hair Fattener Advanced Thickening Cream - $5.27. This is sulfate free and safe for color treated hair. It's a hair serum that helps with thickening. This gets really good reviews, so I'll be trying at some point.

Vichy Liftactiv Serum 10 - $4.50. I love this brand and I'm never disappointed with it. This is one of my favorite skin treatment brands. This is a skin-smoothing anti-aging serum, and you can see results in as short as 10 minutes.

Dermalogica Age Smart SkinPerfect Primer spf 30 - $15.50. This is a makeup primer, you wear under your foundation. Smooth away fine lines, brighten and prime for flawless skin and to prep for make-up application

VBeaute Lip Spread Anti-Age Hydrating Lip Gloss - $19. I've received this before. I like it, and it does have a tint to it, so it's great it's not too sheer. The non-sticky formula delivers high-impact color like a lipstick and features cocoa butter and papaya extract to hydrate and impart a soft finish without visible lip creases and wrinkles.

Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Face Gel for Smile Lines - $4. An intensive 10-minute weekly treatment packing the wrinkle-erasing power of a muscle relaxing injection, that instantly flattens expression lines you have, while preventing future ones from forming. I've never tried this before, so I'm interested to see how this will work.

GloMinerals Suede Matte Stick in Pinup - $16. Matte redefined. Saturated, long-wear color provides intense payoff with a velvety-smooth finish. Enriched with antioxidant Vitamins C and E as well as conditioning Mango Oil and Shea Butter for nourishing protection. The color is said to lasts for hours.

Harry Josh Pro Tools Mini Oval Brush - $25. This is the mini version of the brush created by celebrity stylist Harry Josh. This includes boar bristles. I've received this in boxes before, the full size, but I had gifted it. I don't normally use this type of brush so I'm still on the fence if I'm keeping it. I hear it's excellent though.

The December Beauty Fix box has an approximate value of around $109. I was surprised at how many items were in this box. it felt really packed. Made me remember why I really like this subscription!

PopSugar Must Have Box December 2015 Review

PopSugar Must Have Box is $39.95/month. You can get a price break if you order for the 3 or 6 month plans. This is one of our favorite subscription boxes, and our top recommendation for those new to subs. Each month they send beauty, fashion, or lifestyle items, usually full size. Inspiration the December box is Celebration, Holiday Glamour, New Year's, Indulgence, Chocolate, Sparkles.

PopSugar comes with a nice quality info card that includes descriptions and information about the items in the box.

My Cup of Cake Classic Belgian Chocolate - $5.99. This is basically cake soufflé in a cup. This can be prepared in just three minutes in your microwave. I have not tried yet, so I don't know how easy it is to use. I initially think, it's a microwave, how complicated could it be? But I read a tip that says you should be sure to use the lowest setting as this can overcook quite easily. Good to know.

Meri Meri Silver Stars n White Glitter Tape - $4. This is really pretty and timely, great for adding tape to packages. I love that I got this and I have a different use for this. I plan to add to all of my chargers and cords, particularly my iphone chargers, to ensure they are identified as "Mom's". I cannot be the only household with this issue.

Luv Aj The Rose Gold Ombre Bracelet - $65. This was a PopSugar design.This is a nice quality bracelet, heavy, and I love the dust bag. I do not love the Ombre however. This is a mix of silver, gold, and rose gold. I would have preferred any of these colors in a solid.

Nima Oberoi Lunares Geo Stopper - $24. This is designed to never tarnish. I like that it's a cork replacement, rather than plastic. But I prefer the food saver wine stoppers, so I'll be gifting this one.

Stowaway Cosmetics Crème Lipstick Trio - $30. Colors are Raspberry, Muted Plum, and Cranberry. I love this! I really like all the colors. I never go through an entire tube of lipstick, so three smaller sizes works well for me. I just read the info on the website, and apparently this is what they are all about. You pay less for smaller sizes, and then you can use up before they expire. They also have a regularly recurring subscription service that you can use to save.

Swing Design Nova Blue Mist Jewelry Box - $36. I LOVE this and it's my favorite item this month. I have received Swing Design jewelry boxes in the past, and although they were really nice I never found a use for them. I am really loving this one and have just the spot for it. It's leatherette on the outside and suede inside.

This months box was a great curation. I really love the Swing Design Jewelry box, and the Stowaway lipsticks, and I'm so curious about the cup of cake and how that will turn out. This month has an approximate value of around $165.

Beauty DNA December 2015 Review

Beauty DNA is a monthly subscription service that will send you one full-size skincare or hair care item each month. The cost is $25/month and you usually receive more than triple the value. For the months that I have received a lower value item, they have sent me two items. They have a unique matching system, where you fill out your likes/dislikes profile and you never receive items that you don't like.

Each time I open this box, it feels like opening a gift. Since the items are individualized, there are no spoilers and you never know what you are going to receive. I have had fairly good luck with being matched with items that I really like and that I can actually use.

 

 

3Lab Shine Stop Moisturizer - $65. This is surprisingly heavy due to the high-quality and durable packaging, which I am loving. A lightweight, antioxidant-rich moisturizer that seals in hydration and blocks excessive shine. Oil-free, absorbs quickly and leaves no residue or stickiness. Replaces lost moisture to the skin without clogging the pores. Leaves a clean matte finish. Minimizes shine. This is absolutely perfect for me. I do have a shine stopper I use, that is designed to make your makeup into more of a matte finish, but this one is full of antioxidant's so I plan to switch immediately. This month's item was a hit for me!

Glossybox December 2015

Glossybox is $21/month and you get five beauty products. They include a mix of deluxe trial and full size products. They have a nice rewards program. You have the opportunity to complete surveys for points called Glossydots, and then when you reach 1000 you receive the next month's box free. The boxes include different variations of products, so even if you read the spoilers you don't necessarily know what you will be receiving.

The December Glossybox box included the special design. I thought this one was really pretty and fit well with the seasons Holidays. The info cards are so great because they give helpful tips about the items, and some other makeup tips.

Colorphlex Leave-In Treatment & Detangler 2 oz - $15. This is a leave-in protector and detangler, but is also designed to help salon results last longer on color treated hair. Should help you style without any breakage. This is supposed to help the scalp restore lost moisture as well.

Color Club in Feverish - $8.50. A deep shade of red, with hints and burgundy, said to "get your blood boiling". I am not familiar with this brand, but I love the color, which is great for the winter months.

Orogold 24K Hand Cream 2.5 oz - $38. OROGOLD’s 24K Hand Cream is made with nature’s best moisturizer – shea butter. This rich cream instantly softens and soothes dry skin, giving hands a more polished appearance. I have gotten this many many times over the years, but I have yet to use. I hear it's great and I keep gifting it rather than keeping for myself.

MTJ Cosmetics High Definition Mascara - $21. Full size was included. This is said to have volume and make sure lashes are well separated without leaving clumps. I don't generally try a lot of new mascaras, but I want to try this one.

Glossybox in Glossybox Mauve - $10.75. This is a pearl-infused aubergine shadow that will be a twist on the smokey eye look. A creamy, pearl-infused powder formula that applies evenly and blends well. Can be used both wet and dry – the color is intensified when cake is moistened, which is something I would not have thought of. One of the tips is to pair it with a metallic silver shadow, which I imagine would be very pretty.

Gosling's Original ChopSaver Lip Care was originally invented for musicians, but has quickly found a following from non-musicians due to it's soothing and healing attributes. It helps soothe lip irritations due to severe chapping and cheilitis, PDT treatments, side effects of acitretin, and fever blisters and cold sores. I can personally attest this works well on sunburned lips!

Gosling's Original ChopSaver Lip Care is available on the website in multiple packs. You can try both options for $9.90. The green one is the all natural and the orange has spf 15. I am a huge fan of lip balms, and an even bigger fan of lip balms with spf. The all natural option is certified organic, contains no animal fats and is gluten free. Ingredients: Citrus, Arnica, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Apricot Oil, Beeswax, Grapeseed Oil, White Willow, Ginger Oil, and Aloe.

I have recently returned from an extended trip to the Caribbean, where I somehow managed to get sunburned on my upper lip. Receiving Gosling's Original ChopSaver Lip Care in the mail was very timely for me and I have been using it daily. My lips definitely feel much prior to going in the sun, but I am pleased with the results from the healing ingredients.
