Beauty DNA September 2016 Review

Coola Sport SPF 30 Citrus Mimosa Sunscreen Spray - $32. This is a spray on sunscreen. The flavor is Citrus Mimosa. Sounds great. The only scent I like better for sunscreen is coconut, so this is still a hit for me. Also, this is supposed to help treat dry skin. SPF 30 is way too light for me, but I can handle it for a reapplication if I use a something stronger as a base. I have mixed feelings on spray on sunscreen. I like them because they are easy, convenient. But on the other hand, you still have to rub it in or you will get sunspots (seriously, I've seen it). And have you ever tried applying it during a breeze, such as out at sea? It's definitely not as easy as it sounds. There is a reason these are banned on most yachts.
PCA Skin Peptide Lip Therapy - $22. I received a Bonus item this month! I'm pretty sure I have received this combo before, in previous years, of a sunscreen and lip product. I believe I got the bonus item because the primary item was of a lower value. The PCA Skin Peptide Lip Therapy is a scientifically advanced formula that is supposed to hydrate and improve appearance in the lip area. It is supposed to help with dry lips, and you use twice a day until healed? It contains aloe vera and shea butter, so I'm confident it works well. Also, has a mint fragrance, which I really like for lip products.
This months value is approximately $54. I'm not quite sure why these items were sent for the month of September, and at the end of the month, instead of say May-July? It's confusing to me. But then again, we are supposed to wear sunscreen year round. I don't really think of that too often because living in the Northwest does not necessarily remind you of sunscreen during 3/4 of the year. Anyway,  I am someone who travels to the warmer weather year round so these will get used.

Epicuren Kukui Coconut After Bath Moisturizer - $46. Exotic oils are precisely blended with rich, natural emollients to protect against dry skin. After Bath is the perfect all-over body moisturizer with an exquisitely light feel. This also won a New Beauty Choice Award. Mine had an odd smell and I ended up trashing this. The texture and feel of it were great, but the fragrance was like it was spoiled. I don't know if it's because it was delivered on a really hot day and sat in a sweltering mailbox?

Beauty DNA sends a booklet out to tell you why the item has been picked for you. This is one of those months where I really wished I could have received one of the items I loved from past boxes. I would have been happy with anything but another eye cream, I simply receive way too much of it.

Babor Baborganic Revitalizing Eye Cream -  $64. This is a fairly good size container of eye cream, 15 ml, and especially since a little goes such a long way. A highly effective eye cream to reduce bags and dark circles under the eyes. Minimizes fine lines and wrinkly and supplies intensive moisture.

Epionce Enriched Firming Mask - $38. This mask is intensely hydrating with botanical ingredients to help soothe and improve the visible appearance of elasticity and firmness of the skin. it has extra hydration for tightet and firmer feeling skin; helps reduce visible redness; helps calm and reduce the effects of irritating factors. You leave it on for 5-10 minutes. If you want additional hydration, just don't rinse. I can tell you this is effective and even though I did rinse, it still worked wonders.

Beauty DNA has nice packaging and wraps your item up in tissue paper. They also include a nice info booklet that describes the item you received, including why it was picked for you. I opened up and saw two info booklets, which automatically meant I was receiving two items this month.
Keranique Volumizing Keratin Conditioner - $30. I was guessing I was going to get a hair product this month because it's been awhile. I am thrilled to get this conditioner, I only wish I had gotten the matching shampoo, but that probably won't show up for some time. This was picked for me because it does not have any powdery or rose scent, which I really appreciate. I might save until I can pick up the matching shampoo at some point. It's designed to treat breakage and add volume.
Coola Liplux SPF 15 Peppermint Vanilla - $12. I really like getting lip balms with SPF in them. I always toss in my travel bag for when I'm over in the Caribbean, where spf is a must. This has a vitamin and antioxidant enriched formula to soothe and nourish. I love the flavor and it smells so great!
I'm thrilled with my Beauty DNA box this month!

Beauty DNA sends a full size card on thick paper to describe the product and to describe why it was picked for you. They will include ingredients you like and ingredients that are not included because you don't like them. They generally pick good matches for me.

Phyto-C Serum Fifteen - $77. This provides extraordinary antioxidant protection against UV damage; boosts collagen production, reduces fine lines and wrinkles; retrains melanin formation and pigmentation; strengthens skin barrier. Use once in the morning only 2-3 drops are needed.  You can use on face, neck, and chest. I have been looking for a new serum, I'm kinda bored with the one I'm using. You will never receive the same type of item more than once a year, and always full size.

This month I received two products. The info cards are booklet style and very informative. They tell you about the product and why you were matched for it. I received an info card for both my products this month.
Key West Aloe Coconut Salt Scrub - $25. Revitalize your skin with Coconut Salt Scrub made with Dead Sea Salt and enriched with Sunflower and Avocado oils. I LOVE this stuff. I wish it had more of a coconut fragrance, that part is pretty mild, but I still love it just the same. Last week I ran out of the stuff I was using, so great timing this week. I am confident I will use every drop of it.

PhytoJoba Intense Hydrating Brilliance Shampoo - $19. An intense, sulfate-free daily hydrating shampoo that restores moisture to dry hair without weighing it down. Some time ago, I had received a PhtyoJoba conditioner. I have never gotten around to using it, but now that I have the shampoo as well I am now using this stuff. It does make my hair feel soft. The key is to rinse right away and not let it sit more than 30 seconds.
I'm happy with my products this month, and as usual Beauty DNA picked perfect matches for me.

Beauty DNA December 2015 Review

Beauty DNA is a monthly subscription service that will send you one full-size skincare or hair care item each month. The cost is $25/month and you usually receive more than triple the value. For the months that I have received a lower value item, they have sent me two items. They have a unique matching system, where you fill out your likes/dislikes profile and you never receive items that you don't like.
Each time I open this box, it feels like opening a gift. Since the items are individualized, there are no spoilers and you never know what you are going to receive. I have had fairly good luck with being matched with items that I really like and that I can actually use.

3Lab Shine Stop Moisturizer - $65. This is surprisingly heavy due to the high-quality and durable packaging, which I am loving. A lightweight, antioxidant-rich moisturizer that seals in hydration and blocks excessive shine. Oil-free, absorbs quickly and leaves no residue or stickiness. Replaces lost moisture to the skin without clogging the pores. Leaves a clean matte finish. Minimizes shine. This is absolutely perfect for me. I do have a shine stopper I use, that is designed to make your makeup into more of a matte finish, but this one is full of antioxidant's so I plan to switch immediately. This month's item was a hit for me!

These are the best info cards around. They are on quality paper and booklet style. They also fully explain the product and why the item has been matched specifically for you.
Skin Vanish Instant Imperfection Corrector - $58. This concentrated serum is an instant skin treatment addresses the quadruple threat of skin concerns: Fine lines/aging, sun damage/environmental stresses, dark spots and dullness. The immediate benefits are that it diminishes imperfections and smooth's out your skin. The better benefits are the anti-oxidants that are in the ingredients. I like that I receive such unique items from Beauty DNA, and often times they find items would I not think to buy for myself.

Primo Lash - $48. The longer, darker, fuller lashes you dream of are just a sweep away! PRIMO LASH serum contains breakthrough, patented Peptide Technology to dramatically transform the look of your lashes. Paraben, Gluten, and Sulfate free. This company even has an "auto-replenish service", which is pretty cool.
Also, I love the fact that they put Beauty DNA stickers on their products. This actually helps me remember later on where I got the item from.
