Metrokane Electric Rabbit Rechargeable Corkscrew Review

Metrokane Electric Rabbit Rechargeable Corkscrew

I haven't been doing enough product reviews lately, we have mostly been focused on subscription boxes. So, I thought I would throw in a couple of them. I received the Metrokane Electric Rabbit Rechargeable Corkscrew this past Christmas as a gift. I was reminded this weekend of how grateful I am to own an electric wine bottle opener, and how fabulous and easy to use this one is. You just push a button and it's as simple as that. Then you push the opposite button to get the cork off the thing. Total time is maybe three seconds. My sister discovered a couple weeks ago the top comes off and is actually a foil cutter. Works really well, maybe a second to use it, and really saves the nails. I did a quick search on eBay and found prices ranging from $9.85 - $29.95 for this particular model.

My sister was kind enough to share this photo, to demonstrate what she went through this weekend. Oh, such tragedy. It really makes me grateful to own this gadget because I don't ever want to go back to the day where this is possible.

Tea Tree Oil Cooling Foot Scrub Review

Tea Tree Oil Cooling Foot Scrub

What I'm loving this week: This Tea Tree Oil Cooling Foot Scrub.  I picked this up for $2 at ULTA the other day. I'm seem to be ready for sandal season, although the weather is not cooperating. We're still getting snow! But I've been focusing on getting my feet prepared for pedicures. I've also discovered that all the face serums that I don't care to use on my face, are working out quite well on my feet. I have a Vitamin C one that has a very strong scent, so I cannot stand it on my face, but it is working out great on my feet. What calluses?? Rough patch, Be Gone! I start my routine with this foot scrub, and it is a nice exfoliator, has a good scent, and does feel like it's lightly cooling. My feet feel so soft now! I then use a serum, and follow up with a foot cream. Right now I'm loving Nailtiques Avocado Moisturizing Foot Cream.

Glossybox February 2014 Review

 GLOSSYBOX FEBRUARY 2014 REVIEW
A- Just received the February GlossyBox. The mailman was kind enough to bring straight to my door, as if he knew I was waiting on it. Both K and I get this one monthly, because it is one of our favorites! I'm not sure why mine was the only one delivered today, and hers is still half-way across the county! But I have been waiting all week for a box to arrive, so I'm thrilled to see this, even if it is March 1st. I took pictures this time with my IPhone, hoping I would get better quality. Sadly, that did not quite work, and I still have the flash showing. Sigh. I probably just need a basic photography class, but I have no plans to take one. On to the Review!

K- I was super disappointed that mom got her box a week before me! So I got to watch her unbox. But mine finally came!

A- As always, it comes in such a pretty (and reusable) box!

A- This is what I saw when I first opened it Love the info card, and especially the printed reminder this is the February box.

A- Anatomicals Puffy the eye bag slayer wake up under eye patches ($11) I have never heard of these, and wasn't quite sure what it was, so I pulled some info on this. The Anatomicals under eye patch is filled with vitamins and collagen to help reduce dark circles, reduce puffiness and is enriched with moisturising agents which help to prevent under eye aging. This set contains 3 X 6g sachets.

How to;
1 – Peel back the plastic liner from the packaging

2 – Apply the patches directly to your under eye on a nicely cleansed face

3 – For best results wear the patch for 30 minutes

4 – Gently remove the patches from your under eye.

These patches are disposable, do not reuse.

K- These were really cool! I am excited to try them!

Lauren B. Beauty Nail Couture in City of Angels ($18)
A- This is a really pretty pink color and really does look angelic. Lauren B. says they are the worlds best self-made manicure. This is a brand new line that is launching this spring. You can purchase online through their website. I also did a search and was unable to find any retailers near me. Which means it isn't officially out yet. I'm always thrilled to try new stuff, especially before it's hits retail, so I'm very happy to see this. It's supposed to be quick drying, high shine, and chip resistant.  Its also 5 free.

UPDATE: I have had a chance to try this nail polish now, and sadly, I'm not that impressed. I thought I would be because I loved everything about the bottle. It's classy. The color has applied exactly as it looks in the bottle, which is great. But there is something about the formula that is not quite on par with some of the other higher end brands I've tried. It applies thick enough, but after two thick coats I can still see the ridges in my nails. Possibly it's because of the light color, but I don't believe that is really the cause, because I never use more than two coats. Perhaps it's because of the 5 free formula? If anyone can tell me if there is any connection to that I would appreciate it. I think this looks prettiest in the bottle.

K- No! there is no connection mom! Butter London and Julep are both 5 free but amazing quality. I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet, but looking at mom's nails I love the color and it's identical to the pink Butter London nail polish I own.

Pureology Serious Colour Care, Colour Fanatic (3.58)

A- The price listed is $24/ for full size 6.7 oz. The size we received this month is 1 oz. This spray is to prime, protect, and perfect color treated hair. I have checked out the website, and there are too many benefits/uses to list. It can be used as a leave in conditioner, blow dry spray, detangler, or anti-frizz. Paraben Free.

K- I can always use more protecting sprays because I straighten my hair everyday and do a lot of damage to my hair daily. I was especially happy to see it's specifically for color treated hair and that it is paraben free!!

RENU Lip and Eye Active Lift. $49
A- This cream smooth's fine lines, wrinkles, and reduces dark circles. I was unable to find a direct website for this, but I was able to discover that this particular product has won the Anti-aging Beauty Bible Award. I think this will nicely complement the anatomicals puffy eye bag slayer. How much sleep does GlossyBox think I'm missing? Well, I actually am behind on sleep because this week I've been reading my book every night (just can't put it down), so these products will definitely be useful!! To use, Apply a thin layer around the eye, relax for 10 minutes, remove with damp cotton pads. OR, you can let it absorb.

K- Instead of RENU cream I received the tinted lip balm and I was very happy! It smells great, has a great red tint to it, 100% natural and I use gloss way more than eye creams!

**update** I love this stuff!!!! The tint is a perfect dark pink for my fair skin!! I want more once it's gone!

Sumita Beauty Kala Color Intense Pencil. $15
A- I almost missed this in the box, I'm embarrassed to say. It just kind of blended in with the paper shreds. It's basically black eyeliner, and is supposed to be long lasting. But what is really interesting about this is it's "ideal for the inner water line of the eye". I'm old enough to remember the days when we had to use a lighter to heat up our eyeliner, before we could get it to work on the inner water line. I'm happy girls these days don't have to go through that.

K- I love eye liner! Excited to try it!

K- The value of this month box comes to $96.58 (for the one with Renu instead of the lipgloss)!

GLOSSYBOX is a monthly subscription that is $21/month. The value this month is around $100. GlossyBox might be a little late on shipping. But I can say they are consistent on including quality and interesting and useful products.

They have a program where you can earn glossydots. Once you collect 1000 glossydots you can receive a box for free. I am nowhere near that. If you are interested in ordering, and want to help me out, please shoot me an email brierreview@gmail.com, and I will send you a referral email. This will help me earn 200 glossydots, which is way more than my current balance. We have never received a free box, not from anyone, and I'm sure we will be way more excited than it merits when we finally get there.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box - February 2014 Review

Blush Mystery Beauty Box - February 2014

Today I received the Blush Mystery Beauty Box. I was pleasantly surprised to come home and find it had been delivered. I took a little break from this company after the last mix up had happened. Everything has been straightened out now. I only received one box this month, and was only billed once, as expected. This is truly one of my favorite boxes, because each time I receive something very useful, at the exact time I could use it. In every box I have received something different, that I had never heard of, or that I hadn't seen before, or just never would have thought of to try. In December it was the Avocado Foot Crème, and November was the SmartLash Eyelash serum. I'm loving both of these items and I most likely never would have purchased on my own. I love receiving the full size products, because to me I have to usually try a few times to see how something works.

As always, I post items as I pull them out of the box!

Jonathan Hair Spray. I am out of hair spray, so again, good timing. I have never heard of this brand, but it says it's flexible. It's also vegan. I am thrilled to try it. This item is not on the comment card, so I've concluded this is a bonus item. I'm thrilled it's full size.

Elizabeth Arden Untold Eau de Parfum. I personally am not a fan of any perfume, so this automatically goes into the gifting box. I think this bottle is soo darn cute though.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. I've never used an oil before as a cleanser, but I hear this is the latest thing. I totally will try this. It says it gets ride of makeup completely for soft and supple skin. This weather has been so harsh this winter, I'll try anything.

VBeaute Rub Off Gentle Facial Exfoliator.  I had received an entire travel set of this brand from another subscription box. I have yet to try it. I also will not be gifting it, because I'm really looking forward to trying it.

NYX Are you Depreyeved mascara - I was just thinking this morning I could use a new brand to try, so I'm happy to see this. I have never heard of this particular line, but it came in my exact color, so I'm thrilled.

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle - I'm looking forward to trying this. I have just tried dry shampoo for the first time not too long ago. I was not overly thrilled. I have since tried a different brand, had better results, but still not overly thrilled. So, I will try this stuff, and if this doesn't work then I'll just come to terms that it's not for me.

Dermstore Lip Quench lip balm. I've received this before in a prior box. I like it. I'll probably put this in the giveaway box, because I already have it.

Vichy Liftactiv Serum 10 - This has got to be the worst pic I've ever taken, and I've had a few questionable ones. Sorry about it, might have been better if I'd just stated I never got the pic. This was also a bonus item. I really love serums, so this is cool.

This is the same thing, also a bonus item. The only difference is this one is in a foil packet, and smaller sample size. It's paraben free!

This is Bioxidea Miracle 48 face mask. I have tried this before and loved it. I'm thrilled to receive it again.

NCLA Nail Wrapps - Pizzo. I've personally never tried adhesive nails, not sure I actually will ever try them. But I love this design is so cute. It's going into the giveaway box, and I think it will make a cute gift.

Here is the info card. I rely on the info cards because sometimes I get products I don't intuitively understand. I am happy they send one. The Bonus items are not on the info cards.

I'm very happy that I started back up. I am happy to be introduced to something completely different, and this month for me that is the DHC Cleansing Oil. I am also happy to try new brands, such as the Klorane Dry Shampoo, and the new line from NYX , the Depreyeved mascara.

PopSugar Must Have Box February 2014 Review

PopSugar February 2014 Review

A- Just received the February PopSugar Box today, was excited to see it when I got home. Always packaged so pretty!

Sugarwish Candy (Cinnamon Hearts) ($6.25)

A- This time I remembered to get the pic of the treat, which is Sugarwish Mini Red Cinnamon Hearts. The treat is usually my favorite part of the box, whether I eat it or not. I didn't really care for this type of candy, I was hoping for chocolate.....K wasn't overly enthused either. But, I LOVED how it was packaged. The box and the ribbon made it super special.

K- These were okay. I kind of wished there was chocolate for the Valentines Day month, but at least the hearts didn't melt.

Dial Vitamin Boost Body Wash (~$3)
A- This is Dial Soap wash, Vitamin Boost, Lotion infused, moisturizing body wash. I've already tried it. I didn't expect to fall in love with it immediately, but I did. It's lotion and Vitamin B infused.  It's amazing. It's super green, which is kind of cool, like Kiwi Green. It really does feel lotion infused, and really does feel super moisturizing. I like it so much I actually want to do a separate post just on this item. Oh, and it smells fruity amazing, love the Kiwi scent. I really didn't expect to be enthused about a Dial soap, but this is different, and I like that.

K- This was the most talked about item of the box. Everyone was mad that it was Dial soap. First, it was a bonus item and didn't take away from the value of the box. Second, this is full sized item. And Third, this item is a brand nee item. After trying this product I loved it! The ingredients didn't have any parabens listed! The neon green color is way cool! And I can tell its lotion infused it leaves my skin so soft when I get out of the shower.

Model Co. Lip Pops Duo Lip Gloss and LipStick ($16)

A-  Modelco Lop Pops Duo Lip Gloss and LipStick. This is a combo lipstick/gloss, one side is the gloss and one side is the lipstick. Sorry about the poor picture, it's really light colored, a pretty pink, and I wasn't able to get a better pic with my camera skills. The product is cool, I love the two in one.

K- I love this combo gloss and lipstick! The lipstick color is great on me. The gloss smells like watermelon and is a great sheer pink color.

Nourish Organic Argan Face Serum ($23.99)

A- This is Nourish Organic Pure Hydrating Argan Face Serum. I am looking forward to trying this, I really love my face serums.

K- I really liked this serum! It smells amazing and it is a great serum. I still love my Tarte maracuja oil serum more but this is a great second one! I LOVE that it is organic.

k. hall Designs Peony Candle Tin ($11)
A- K Hall Designs Peony Travel Candle. This is way way too floral for me. It's going into the gift basket.
K- It is a cute travel candle but I really wish it wasn't floral scented.

NCLA Nail Polish (Rodeo Drive Royalty) ($16)

A- This is NCLA Rodeo Drive Royalty nail polish. LOVE the color. Once again, here is my fancy camera skills at work. My apologies.

K- I received this nail polish in a past Jennifer Love Hewitt FancyBox so I wasn't thrilled to see it but it is a great color! Will probably gift it.

Gorjana Brooks Jewelry Roll ($45)

A- Gorjana Brooks Jewelry Roll. I had heard that we were getting a travel bag for jewelry. This is super cute. I am showing mine open and K's closed. K's worked out great. Mine has a broken zipper. Which is disappointing because I travel a lot and really could use this. In fact, it's one of those items that I never knew I needed, until now that I am looking at one and don't understand how I've been living without one. I am going to email the company to see if they are willing to replace it. If that doesn't work out, then I will probably look for another one somewhere.

**update** They sent me a new working one!

K- I love this jewelry roll I am so happy that we got something different in the box! I am excited to use this on my upcoming trips! I love the bright color too!

K- This month's box came to a total value of $121.24! Popsugar is still one of my favorite subscription boxes! They have the best value as well as the funnest new items! Can't wait until next month!

A- PopSugar is always a super fun box each month. Very reliable. Always something new, cool, fun, different, or yummy!

PopSugar Must Have Box January 2014 Review

PopSugar January 2014 Review

A- Well I didn't post last months review yet, so I'm doing so now. But the good news is, unlike most months, I've actually tried some of the products now.

Jack + Lucy Knit Gloves (~$20)A- Jack and Lucy Gloves. These gloves are touchscreen gloves. They work with smartphones, IPADS, anything type of touchscreen. I have now tried them, and I can say they are exactly as smooth as a finger, but they do work. I found myself having to press a little harder than normal, but eventually I got it. I only tried them because it is below freezing, and it was either patiently wait for them to work, or give up on my smartphone. I would not have the patience to text with them on, but it worked great for unlocking my phone an pressing a couple apps.

K- I was looking at buying some touch screen gloves. Nothing is more annoying than having to rip off your gloves every time you get a text message. and I like the color!

Revlon by Marchesa Box O’ Files ($3.49)A- Revlon limited edition files. I have not tried these. They are going into the giveaway box because I have plenty of nail files. They are super cute though.

K- These were cute I will throw them in my purse.

Rifle Paper Co. 2014 Flip Around the World Desk Calendar ($16)A-Rifle Paper Calendar. I took this calendar to work for my desk. It's original, so I like that.

K- This calender is soo cute! I kind of want to save the pictures to frame.

The Juice Generation Book ($15.86) A- This is a book on juicing. I did not personally find any use for this book, but K was really excited to see it. I just don't do my own juicing. No interest.

K- I was really excited to see this! I love books and I love diet/nutrition books! The only downside....I don't have a juicer! But maybe I will pick up a cheap one to try this.

Malin+Goetz Detox Face Mask ($40)A- Malin +Goetz Detox Face Mask. I did not expect to like this stuff, but I have found it to be absolutely amazing. Love it!!! I will put this on my must-buy list when I run out. I like it that much. It applies like a lotion, but then turns into a mousse. It's fun. And cool. I plan to check out other products from this brand.

K- This was a huge hit for mom and I! This mask is soo cool! It is a gel at first and then turns into a foam, and it feels soo weird when its bubbling! And the almond scent is amazing! I really love that it is a 5 minute mask too!

Pipsnacks White Truffle Pipcorn ($6)
A- And back to my usual self.....once again ate the snack without grabbing a pic. Sorry about that. It was Pipcorn mini popcorn. I personally did not care for it, but K liked it.
K- This was pretty yummy! The popcorn pieces were so small.

K- This months box had a value of $101.35! I loved the mask and gloves!!
A- This wasn't my favorite box. But I still love it!!

Stitch Fix Review January 2014

Stitch Fix Review January 2014

I received my Stitch Fix order yesterday. I couldn't remembered if I had asked for anything specific because I had put my order in several months ago. I can only imagine they must be pretty busy.

This green sweater is the first item I looked at. I like the color, but I don't really care for the pattern, OR the style. It looks like it's a little bit too old for me. A lot too old. My grandma would have loved it.

I liked this top, and I really love the color. This is my style, but I already have several items like it.

I kinda liked the style of this top, but I really don't like the checkered pattern.

This one I didn't even really understand this one. I think it is an off the shoulder? It's not my style.

I also got Kut from the Kloth skinny jeans in Blue, but I do not have a pic. LOVE them!! The cost is $78. But I can't imagine paying that when I know I can get them on sale at Macy's, Nordstrom, or Lord & Taylor for much less.

Unfortunately, everything is going back this time. I will probably wait some time before trying Stitch Fix again, this one just didn't work out.
